Weld-On Bullet Hinge – Compact and Heavy-Duty Door Mounting Solution
The Dunn and Watson Weld-On Bullet Hinge is designed for secure and reliable door installations where space is limited and strength is essential. Often referred to as lift-off or barrel hinges, this hinge system is ideal for tight applications like toolboxes, truck bodies, trailers, canopies, security gates, and marine enclosures.
Each hinge includes two interlocking teardrop-shaped halves that can either be installed for quick lift-off removal or inverted for a fixed and permanent mount. This flexibility makes them suitable for a variety of custom setups.
Available in both mild steel and aluminium, with size options ranging from 80mm to 150mm, these bullet hinges are equipped with a grease nipple to ensure long-term operation and prevent binding. The welded-on design allows the hinge to carry greater loads than conventional screwed hinges and is perfect for fabrication projects with limited welding space.
Barrel Hinge for Heavy-Duty Metal Door Installations
Dunn and Watson Barrel Hinges provide a clean, low-profile solution for heavy-duty hinging applications. Used in a wide range of industries, from automotive to marine, these hinges are especially useful in narrow frames and confined spaces. Designed to be welded directly to metal doors and frames, they provide superior strength and long-lasting durability.
These hinges are available in either mild steel or aluminium construction and feature a fixed stainless steel pin. The mild steel version includes a brass washer, while the aluminium version features a stainless steel washer. All models include a grease nipple at the front of the hinge to allow for smooth, low-maintenance operation over time.
Because the hinge can be separated into two parts, they are well-suited to lift-off doors and tailgates, where easy removal is a priority. Alternatively, installing them in reverse prevents removal and creates a permanent door connection. Dunn and Watson’s bullet hinges are ideal when appearance, strength, and accessibility all matter in your build.
